A defensible calculation separates gross affected value from potential recovery, likely exposure, and evidence that remains unresolved.
What costs should be included in an ECO cost calculation?+
The first financial screen should include outgoing-revision inventory, work in progress, and open purchase commitments. A complete analysis may also require supplier cancellation charges, currencies, return or restocking terms, rework and conversion costs, alternate demand, effectivity timing, and approved mitigation outcomes.
Is affected purchase-order value the same as financial exposure?+
No. Affected PO value is the commitment that needs review. Some of it may still be cancellable, reducible, redirectable, returnable, or consumed before cutover. Financial exposure is the remaining position after supportable recovery and mitigation are considered.
Can this calculator determine the final write-off?+
No. This free screening uses aggregate values and assumptions, so it returns a preliminary range rather than a booked liability. A final write-off requires line-level quantities, revision identity, supplier evidence, effectivity, accounting treatment, and an approved disposition.
